The James Downham band has been added to the line-up of Big Music Fest’s Breaking Bands competition! The free show on Friday, July 10th features Big Sugar, along with 20 up-and-coming bands from across Ontario competing to see who might be the next big thing!
The winner of the competition will open for the headliner act in next year’s event, will win a fully produced music video from our friend’s at Esteemedia (they’re producing our music video for “Don’t Talk to Girls” as part of the prize package from The SHOT Season 2), music mentoring, and a host of other great prizes. In addition, the winner will be the feature of a documentary film chronicling their 1-year journey from Breaking Bands 2015 to Big Music Fest 2016! Last year’s winners, The Modern Hearts, perform on Saturday July 11th along with Soundgarden, Jane’s Addiction, Extreme, Monster Truck, The Glorious Sons, and the Mohrs.
Clearly this is a HUGE opportunity for the band, with an expected crowd of 10-15,000 people for the Friday show. We’re very excited!! We hope to see lots of familiar, supportive faces in the crowd!
